The EUCC has been active in sustainable energy issues in Europe and internationally for a number of years. This includes the generation and use of renewable energy for coasts, islands and marine areas in Europe and internationally. More information on that engagement is available here http://www.eucc.net/en/climate_change/index.htm
The EUCC will be attending the Sustainable Energy for All Forum in New York City from June 4 to 6th, and producing a daily blog on relevant issues for Europe’s coasts, island and seas.
By June 2014, two years have passed since Rio+20, where world leaders declared they were determined to act to make sustainable energy for all a reality and, through this, assist in the eradication of poverty and lead to sustainable development and global prosperity. To celebrate the first year of the United Nations Decade of Sustainable Energy for All (2014-2024), the Sustainable Energy for All initiative is organizing the first annual Sustainable Energy for All Forum on 4-6 June 2014 at UN Headquarters in New York. The Forum will assess progress on sustainable energy since Rio, showcase success, share best practices, present new commitments, catalyze action and help shape the global energy debate for the next decade.
