The North West Coastal Forum, working with Sefton Council and 10 European partners as part of the SUSTAIN project, is pleased to announce a major international conference addressing coastal sustainability issues across Europe and celebrating achievements of organisations and individuals across North West England.
The conference is free to attendand will focus on the outputs from the SUSTAIN: Assessing sustainability and strengthening operational policy project, partly‐funded by the INTERREG IVC Programme.
The Key Note speech on Sustainability and Community at the Coast will be delivered by Phil Dyke, Coast and Marine Advisor for the National Trust and Chair of the Coastal and Marine Working Group, EUROPARC Atlantic Isles. Throughout the day experience from the SUSTAIN partnership, together with examples of sustainable practice from across the North West will be presented, together with the 2012 North West Awards for Coastal Excellence, which celebrate the achievements of organisations, community groups and individuals towards long term sustainability of our coast. The conference will be followed by a formal dinner and a day of guided site visits to the Sefton coast.
