Deadline extension for abstracts LITTORAL 2012 – Coasts of tomorrow

The deadline to submit abstracts has been extended untill 15th June 2012

The City of Oostende, at the heart of Belgium’s coast, will proudly host the 11TH LITTORAL CONFERENCE, the biannual international conference of the Coastal and Marine Union (EUCC) and EUROCOAST, from 27-29 November of 2012. We warmly invite you to submit your abstract and actively participate at this
year’s conference.

We invite coastal practitioners, researchers and policy makers to submit abstracts concerning their best-practice examples or research projects related to any of the four themes of Littoral 2012 – Coasts of Tomorrow:

  • NATURE CONSERVATION IN COASTAL AREAS
  • COASTAL PRODUCTIVITY
  • INNOVATION IN ON-/ NEARSHORE INFRASTRUCTURE
  • MEASURING SUSTAINABILITY IN COASTAL AREAS

For each theme, we want to hear the most recent scientific insights, learn from real-life experiences and discuss present and future practices and policies frameworks. During the thematic sessions, the keynote lectures, the interactive debate and the excursions, we hope to facilitate a fruitful discussion between the different stakeholders of Littoral 2012, in order to jointly work on shaping our coasts of tomorrow.
